New Kaz

New KazI tend to use my cell phone regularly as do the majority of young people. In fact, I do not just use my cell phone but it can literally be seen as an extension of my arm. If I am not busy talking to someone then I am texting them or surfing the Internet using my cellular telephone. I consider this to be very enjoyable of course but I do have a problem which I am sure that many of you can appreciate and that is trying to make a decision about whether or not I should upgrade my cell phone.

A major problem I have with upgrading is the fact that it is not covered by any sort of free phone offer that is available through my provider because I decided that the iPhone was to be my cell phone of choice and so I needed to pay for it outright. So, every and every time an upgrade come out I have to pay two hundred dollars or so to keep pace with the Joneses. Now I am not saying that you do not get some great kit in return but I am saying that it is a bit ridiculous.

I also have some difficulty with the fact that the iPhone does not include any sort of insurance coverage. I am slightly embarrassed to have to admit that since I have owned my iPhone I have dropped it into water twice, costing me a fair amount of money to replace. It would have been a lot simpler if they had offered me an insurance policy, similar to the plans available with other cell phones. I would even be quite happy to pay $10 or $12 a month to ensure that I never again have to buy one of these phones outright.

Of course, there is also the question as to whether or not I really need to upgrade my cell phone at all. Sometimes it seems as though this is nothing more than an exercise in futility because as soon as I upgrade the next model will come out. I have to say that I am addicted to gadgetry and I do get good use out of my cell phone but I think that it is crazy that they have to come out with a new model every few months just because they know that people just like me are going to rush out and buy it.

I am looking forward to the time when the iPhone has greater competition and it is no longer the new thing on the block. I would like to think that I will continue to use it indefinitely but I know that sooner or later there will be some sort of new gadget which replaces the iPhone – at least in terms of popularity. Until then, you know where you will find me when they come out with an upgrade. I will grin and bear it, pay my money and simply enjoy the new technology.
